When I try to print, the printer does not respond. How do I fix this?

This issue is typically related to documents being backed up in the print queue. To clear the print queue:

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Double-click the Printers and Faxes. You may need to go to the Settings menu to locate this option..
  3. Double-click the printer that you are printing to. If there is anything showing up on the list, this would indicate that there are documents in the print queue.
  4. Go to the Printer menu and select the Cancel All Documents option. Please note that this will clear out all the documents that are being printed.
  5. On the prompt asking for confirmation, click the Yes or OK button.

Once all the items disappear from this list, the print queue has been cleared. We have found that for some printers, the printer has to be turned off for it to finish clearing the print queue. If the print queue does not clear after a minute, power your print off to see if this helps.
