Hello Francis,

In order to suggest a course of action we will need to know th3 exact error message if any, that you are getting when you run the install. What operating system you are installing it on, if it is 64 bit or 32 bit os as well as if you have an existing virus scanner. Once we have this information we can then suggest a course of action.

Hello Francis,

Generally this error is due to left over files from a previous install of Fix it. We have a removal tool for this. In order to get the tool to you, we need you to submit a Support request. You will see the Support tab in the middle of this web page near the top.

I too just purchased and am having issues with the install I am running windows 7 with 64 bit. After trying the first time I went in a uninstalled a few things including my anti virus software.. I have been having major issues with my laptop hence the reason for the purchase and thought maybe freeing up some space and background running might help. My error is different I am getting Error(s) occured during Threat Definition file copy. Please run Update Check after finishing installation. Then I click ok and it says Installation ended prematurely because of an error. Please help!

Hello Cheryl,

There are four usual causes for this error.

• Firewall blocking the program from reaching the server

• Another security program blocking the connection

• Poor connection corrupting the download

• Corrupted DNS settings

Tip: to correct DNS problems, open a command prompt and type the following command minus the

quotes “ ipconfig/flushdns” and hit enter

Lets make sure that a corrupted download isn’t left in the Downloads folder

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Avanquest\AntiMalware\Downloads clear all files in this folder

Then clear the temporary files “ click start then run type %temp% and clear as many of those files as

you can. Then open Update check on the home page and manually check for updates.

Note: This can also be caused by the service not stopping properly during the update not allowing the

definitions to be over written. Restarting the computer should help in this situation.
