Spy-ware detection is not as simple as it looks

Every time I have PC issues I used different tools to help me solve them.  One issue that bugs me in particular is removing spy-ware; no one product seems to do the job 100%.

Often I'll run a spy-ware detection program and then I run a different program after to see how well the first did. Well what do you know, the 1st program didn't catch all, why does this not surprise me? Now that I think of it, most of the companies I know run different Anti-virus and Anti-Spy-ware on their servers than on their firewalls, so getting better results with different programs.

The main issue is that I cannot run 2 different products at the same time they conflict with each other and the occasional blue screen has occurred! Plus running one deep scan can take a while let alone two; I don't always have the time or the patience to wait for the first to finish to run the 2nd.  I have tried many products and selected 2 that worked best for me, it does not matter which of the two that I run first the other always catches more.

The solution is at hand, Avanquest Double Anti-Spy is a complete software package that includes as the name says 2 compatible and independent threat definition files supplies by 2 different companies.  Well I installed the software and ran the program selecting a deep scan. I ran it once but the 2 engines ran one after the other automatically, I sat back and let it happen.

Now did Double Anti-Spy do a good job? I then ran both the other programs that I have used in the past and... Neither of the 2 programs found any additional Spy-ware on my PC.

So if you are like me, and you want the best spy-ware protection and you have been running only one in the past then I think you will like Double Anti-Spy.  It might not be the fastest but the most important for me are the results.

I enjoy using all software applications, both on and off line.  At the same time I am very interested in technology, particularly when this brings innovation but not at the cost of usability.
