I just find this "fake" commercial add on youtube (check the video) and I think it's not really a fake, I've used an iPhone for few time only and seems to me a way to complicated to do what I wanted to do.
1st experience: change the phone language, find the settings icon, scroll to general, click on it, then "International" ??? ok, let's go, then 2 places where to change language.... ok, Finally I get it changed
2nd experience: The Big Round button, each time I wanted to go back or sometimes to "enter" I clicked on this big button and it closed the current app I used.
3rd experience: My - Let's call it - Desktop is full of icons I can make no distinction of (for example, 2 or 3 that correspond to iPod, iTunes, Music... are they not all the same? then )
4th experience: Meteo Widget, it always display 23° on the icon, after some time (looking at the sky outdoor) I released that it was just an icon... very frustrating to open an application for that (it's just like if you need to open a "clock" app to see what time it is, Oh no! Clock is already used for the Alarm... no comment), maybe some improvement on some icons (more dynamic) would help...
5th experience: Camera app, I took a pic, ok that works fine then.... I took another one... ok...etc... seems that the camera keep storing images before I can check if I took it the right way or not, after some time I realized that if you click on the little thumbnail in the bottom left side of your camera app it shows you the latest image and you can then delete it (if it was not good enough), for me it's not natural way, I've used many devices to take photos (phones, cameras, webcams etc...) and all of them allowed me to check the picture I just took (even if it was for 2 or 3 seconds before passing to a new one)
etc... etc...
For me its just a few examples of my experience with the iPhone, most of people say that the iPhone user interface is the most easy to learn and the most well done but except on some area I didn't find it so easy to use/learn, it took me almost the same time to learn how to use it as with any other phone except the Nokia 3310 :)
I would like to hear about your experience if you are an iPhone user and also for those who don't have an iPhone what you heard about it (except "There is an app for all")

@ Nacim: Please read all sentences, I didn't said that Android is better (see my comments about other phones: it was the same pain to learn them except for Nokia 3310)

I am an iPhone user and find the iPhone and user interface really easy to use.
I used to have a Sony Ericsson and whilst I liked the phone I found the interface and controls difficult to use.
With the iPhone I picked up the interface almost straight away and find it easy to use, the virtual keyboard I find easy to use as well and everything is set out in a simple layout.

I feel that iPhone did its time, now, Market is expecting more changes.
Let's hope Fourth generation of iPhones will offer real improvement not just adaptation of what is already existing like they did for MMS, 3G...etc.
Seems that incoming iPhone owners will benefit from the cutting-edge technology : camera's flasht.

Oh boy - just last night my dear DIL bought a new iphone for my son. I could not believe the size of the users manual. If it takes THAT much study to utilize a TELEPHONE, how will we manage to breath on our own?
My question has always been, WHY does a telephone need to be a COMPUTER?
Sheesh.

@Eileen: I believe the uses have changed.
I assume the part of use dedicated to vocal communication is less than 20% on a phone. Social networking and mailing part of use is much more important than usual calls.
Also, a smartphone is now a multimedia partner, used to listen to music, take ans show pictures and videos, store e-books...so much things to do else then calling people.
I believe we should not call these devices smartphone but personal multimedia device.
Gaming is also taking a great part of use on smartphones. According to a study issued last year up to 30% of nomad gamers plays on smartphone, against 12% that plays on PSP, which is a device that is DEDICATED to gaming!
The smartphone are slowly but surely taking over a lot of tasks that we used to handle with PC's, game consoles...etc.
In short time range, I think that home PCs will disappear, while dependency on portable communication devices will grow up. May be one day we will be able to user our "phones" as keys, remote control, ID cards or driving licence.
It is the end of an era :)

Hi Nacim :)
For the techies out there, this is no doubt true. But the regular "folks" (for the majority of the populous) will not be embracing the newer high tech as much because of the cost. The economy (in the US) will not allow for this type of expense, for some time to come, for many families.
I agree it is coming, upon swift wings. However, PC's will be phased out long after I am dead and buried... I think. Heh... so perhaps I will still be able to support myself until that time comes, eh? I like to keep up, but technology grows too swiftly for my pocketbook to bear easily. So I remain in a somewhat slower lane for most of the time. Just on the edge of knowing...
