How to modify colour of text on web site when link is clicked

I have two questions -

When the mouse/cursor passes over some of the links on my completed Website, they disappear or turn white. Other links turn a different colour after the link has be clicked. How do I change or control this?

How can I add Facebook and Google+ links to one of my website pages?

Hello Michael,

Links have an active color and a visited color. Settings the colors are done through the Build menu.
When you go to the Built menu, you should see the Standard Link, Active Link and Visited Link options with a colored square next to each item. Click on the square to edit the color.

Hi Arthur.

Thanks. I had forgotten where those setting were. However, I actually have those settings set to the my preferred colours.

But, the links in question on my web site turn white or invisible when the cursor passes over them. You can see what I mean if you go to www.kolesardesign.com and click on any one of the four headings on the top right of the pages. It is this that I am trying to correct.

Thanks

Michael

Michael,

What do you have the ACTIVE LINK color in the build menu set to?

Hi Arthur

The active link is set to black. The type colour though is #555452. This is the same for all of the type. But only the links at the top of the page seem to turn white. If you pass the cursor over other links on the page, they turn black.

Michael,

Can you click on the link object. In the File Inspector, under the Style tab, is there a Style Class (under the Item sub-category) assigned to that object?

That object may have a specific style class assigned to it, which have different link colors. If an object has a style class assigned to it, it will adopt the style class formatting.

Hi Arthur,

I checked and the text in question is list as Style Class - Navigation. This is the only difference from other links. I changed the Class to No Class and the link changed colour but did not go white. So I then changes the 'fill' colour. As soon as I did that the colour of the text stayed grey until it changed to the 'visited' colour. So, thank you. I have a solution to the problem. It will require a bit of work to change all of them, but it will be corrected.

Michael,

You can change the navigation style class properties to reflect the colors you wish for it to use. Then, all objects assigned with that style class will use the formatting of that style class.

If you set no style class to the object, it should adopt the link link colors that you have set for the project. There may be a links style class that it is adopting the link colors from.
