In 5 minutes I'm unable to find if Microsoft Office Web apps allow one to share documents with other users. It looks to me like the free version is reserved for personal use and businesses should deploy the apps on their Microsoft Sharepoint server, which is both an advantage (security of hosting the server behind the corporate firewall) and a disadvantage (pricing, IT, limited accessibility to SMBs).
One of the good advantage of Google Docs is that almost every professional I work with has a Google account which makes sharing a document very easy.
