scrapbook factory memory

When I try to add a photo to my project from my photo folder Srapbook factory pops up a window and says that it is out of memory. I got the software in 2010. And it just started doing this. I have found a way to add photos, I have to open my photo folder, copy the photo I want to my desktop, then go back to my project and browse to the desktop for the photo.

Debbie,

This is something that some other users have reported a similar problem with. The issue seems to be tied to the size and amount of photos you have in the particular folder that you are trying to get the image from.

For example, lets imagine that you have a folder with 100 images in it. The program is crashing when you attempt to access that folder to insert an image. If you split that folder into two folders with 50 images in each, the error goes away.

Now, the above description is not actually representative of the number of images per folder. Some people found that they could have many more images in the folder before they started having memory errors. Others stated they had less with the same memory errors. The common solution though is that if they reduce the number of images in the folder, they no longer get memory errors.

My recommendation to you would be to separate your images into folders. If you are using a single folder where you are storing all your images, you should create some sub-folders in there to separate the images. Whether they are separated by dates or content, it does not really matter. It is just important that all the images are not within the same folder.

This issue has been reported to the developers. It is unclear whether this is something they can address via an update or if they need to correct it in the next version of the program.

Robby,  I was just thinking that maybe I do have too many photos.  it is actually not in a folder but in my HP Photo smart essentials, that I have 1500 photos!  So I will try and move them to a flash drive and see what happens.  Thanks for the input.  Debbie
