Using Audacity to record Skype (Windows 7)

For recording and editing audio .. my favourite software is the free "Audacity".

But I've failed with flying colours when trying to record Skype conversations with Audacity on a Windows 7 machine.

I can record one or other of the speakers but not both ....

I don't think this is a problem with Skype or with Audacity  ... I suspect something to do with Windows 7 setup.

Any suggestions .... Google search brings up the fact tat a lot of others have the same problem .. and it has been around for a while.

Thanks ...

Apparently Audiacity can't record form Skype, I'm not sure why  but is not the first time I heard about it. You could try to use another software like MP3 skype recorder (its free but without many options.)

I agree with Miguel, you can use MP3 skype recorder then edit in audicity if needed.

Thanks guys .. I've added suggestion to my VOIP page http://www.shambles.net/pages/staff/voiceip/

MP3 Skype Recorder v.1.9.0 does seem to be my solution ... and free

Now if only SmartFTP was still free (sorry ... completely unrelated) .... :-)
