Billy,

Which version number of Photo Explosion SE are you trying to run? Also, which version of Windows are you trying to run it on?

Billy,

Unfortunately, the year is not any indication of the version number. Without knowing the version number, it is hard to determine if there is something about that particular version that is causing the problem.

However, you did say it was working correctly at one point. So, this should mean that you can get it running correctly once more. Have you tried reinstalling the program? If something has happened to the program's installation, reinstalling the program should correct the issue. If reinstalling does not correct the issue, then the issue is likely caused by an external source. If you have not done so already, I would recommend that you try reinstalling the program.

I believe it is version 1.0. I reinstalled the program and the warning still pops up " Photo Explosion has stopped working"

Billy,

If the error appears after reinstalling the program, then the cause of the problem is most likely something outside of the program. There may be something running in the background that is causing problems with the program. As a test, please try the following:

1) Close all program
2) Click on the Start button
3) Type "msconfig" without the quotes in the Search box
4) Double-click the MSCONFIG item that appears on the search list
5) On the General tab of the System Configuration window, select the Diagnostic Startup item
6) Click on the OK button
7) At the prompt, select the Restart Now option
8) After the computer restarts, test the program to see if the problem still occurs

You can re-enable your startup items by performing the following steps:

1) Repeat steps 1-4 from above
2) On the General tab of the System Configuration window, select the Normal Startup option
3) Click the OK button
4) At the prompt, select the Restart Now option

After the computer restarts, your startup items will have been re-enabled.

Billy,

That test disables the majority of programs that run in the background when starting your computer. It does not get them all and does not disable any services that may be causing a problem. So, what I would suggest you try to do next is to restart the computer in Safe Mode and see if the program will launch there.

I restarted the computer in Safe Mode. Good news, No warning popped up. Bad news, the program still did not open. I just found out that it is photo explosion version 1.0.

Billy,

If it fails to launch in Safe Mode, then I think the issue is something outside of the program. Do you remember any changes to the computer between the time you last successfully used the program and when you first noticed the problem? Were there any programs installed/uninstalled? Were any programs updated? Do you know if there were any Windows updates that were installed? If you can identify what may have changed in that period of time, it may help determine what is causing the problem.
