Printing 2 cards per page - Avery template 5315

The old Hallmark software had an option to print to Avery template 5315 which is a 2 cards per page option with each card being 4 1/4 by 5 1/2.  The 2011 Hallmark software doesn't provide this option.  I have no problem setting up a new print size but how do I get it to print 2 cards on 1 sheet?  Thank you so much for any help you can give me; I really enjoy being able to print the smaller cards.

I have the same question.  It seems I have tried everything and can't do this either.

Nancy,

There is not a way to set up the 5315 paper in Hallmark Card Studio 2011.  However, there is a way you should be able to work around it.  It may take a bit of work to get it done, though.

I do not have the 5315 paper, so I am working under some assumptions.  One assumption is that the whole sheet that holds those two cards measures 8.5x11.  If that is the case, you will want to start with a blank 8.5x11 stationary project in the Art Studio.  Then, you would want to create your card design so it takes up the area on the top half of the blank paper.  Ideally, you want it to match the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 dimensions of one of the cards.  There is not a ruler in the program, so you will have to guess as to the correct dimensions.  Then, you will need to place it where it appears to be located on the physical sheet of paper.  Again, you will have to guess as to where it will be situated.  Once you have it there, you can copy/paste a duplicate of the design into the lower half of the blank design where you think the second card seems situated.  From there, you simply print and re-adjust until everything is in the right size and position.

I have a couple of suggestions on how to make this process easier.  The first is that you print all your test page on regular paper.  Then, punch out just one of the sheets of notecards so the "frame" that is left behind can be used to overlay the print out.  This will make checking the positioning a lot easier.

The second suggestion is that you initially work with the outlined square shape from the Add Shape window.  This way, once you get the dimensions and position finalized, you can save the project with just those two boxes on it.  Then, later you can use it as a starting point for any future designs with the 5315 card stock.

I've done this for years with programs which didn't have the "two to a page" option.  On regular card stock paper, print your card.   Turn the paper over and print the other side.  It may take a few tries to find out which way to turn the paper and it prints the same care twice.   A little Mickey Mouse and you'll figure out how to do two different cards this way.

You know for as much money as this program costs you would think that I could simply print out cards on the size paper I choose. It seems like with each new year's upgrade it does fewer things. This may be my last year with Hallmark card maker

Karol,

As far as I know of, going back to Hallmark Card Studio 2005, the program has never had an option of printing two cards on one page. Also, I have never seen the program lose any features or types of projects over the years. What feature/project are you missing that was in a prior version of the program?
