Hallmark Card Studio 2012 Deluxe

When opening the Hallmark Card Studio 2012 program the following error appears:

Hallmark Card Studio has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Please tell Microsoft about this problem.

I have called and talked with tech support several times and presently can not get through to anyone. My case # is 70940

Can someone PLEASE tell me why this is happening? I have lost 2009,2010  due to computer problems, and got the 2012 and installed it to have the same error appear.

I also now can not open and use a photo program which was installed.

Kristi,

There are a number of potential causes for a problem such as you described. It sounds like there may be a problem with your Windows installation which is causing problems with multiple programs. What you may want to try first is to simply disable your startup items to see if one of them is interfering with the program. Please try the following:

1) Close all program
2) Click on the Start button and go to Run
3) Type "msconfig" without the quotes in the Open box and click the OK button
4) On the General tab of the System Configuration window, select the Diagnostic Startup item
5) Click on the OK button
6) At the prompt, select the Restart Now option
7) After the computer restarts, test the program to see if the problem still occurs

You can re-enable your startup items by performing the following steps:

1) Repeat steps 1-3 from above
2) On the General tab of the System Configuration window, select the Normal Startup option
3) Click the OK button
4) At the prompt, select the Restart Now option

After the computer restarts, your startup items will have been re-enabled.

I have tried this along with every other suggestion and program still won't work.. When I did this it blocked my printer . I got a little further because I finally was able to hit print and could see the print options half fold/ 1/4 fold ect however could still not preview card and when I clicked print it said that there was no printer installed.. I have updated everthing and now am completely frustrated we have been working on this for 4 days now and have still not been able to get program to run

Lori,

The suggestion provided for Kristi does not necessarily apply to the problem(s) you are experiencing. Could you describe to me exactly what sort of problem you were experiencing with the program before performing the steps that I provided Kristi? Also, which version of Hallmark Card Studio are you running? Lastly, which version of Windows are you running this on and is that a 32bit or 64bit installation of Windows?

Sorry Robby but I got so frustrated I sent it back for a refund. I had Hallmark 2012 deluxe but it would not work no matter what I did. The software installed fine but after making or saving a card it would not print. As soon as I went to the print section I got the error that Hallmark stopped working and would check for solution and then I got booted out of it completely. This went on for a week.. I unintsalled - reinstalled.... I got useless info from the customer service on line chat and I read all other posts and tried all other things that were suggested and no matter what I did that page was blocked and would not allow the card to print. I was not spending all kinds of money to purchase a new video card or buy anything that I did not need. I have a 3 yr old computer that is windows 7 64 bit.

I have no issues running any other programs. FinallY I gave up .. It was not worth all my time and aggrevation so I uninstalled and bought a different card studio program that works just fine. This Hallmark program obviousy has many issues from what I have read and definately not able to find the fixes needed for some people to run it properly so until they are able to fix their issues I will stay away from Hallmark products.
