The most recent update to Hallmark Card Studio 2011 will not install. I get the message that the software on my computer is NOT an updateable version.

You already have the most recent update installed. This is why you are unable to install it. The most recent update will bring prior versions of Hallmark Card Studio 2011 up to version 12.0.1.7.

I am not sure why it is telling you there is an update when you have the most recent one. The update should state what it is supposed to correct. What does it show for the details of that update? If possible, could you describe the entire window that you are seeing this prompt for an update?

On the Update Available Window, it states the following:
The following patch is available to download and install:
Support Patch: Fixes missing shapes and updates the Event Planner.
After the update file is downloaded, you will be prompted to save any unfinished work. The application will then shut itself down and the new update will be installed.

That update description is from the one that brings your system up to 12.0.1.7. There appears to be a problem with the way it is validating whether you have the most recent update or not. I have reported this issue to the developers.
For the time being, there is no need to install that update as you already have it. When the next update is released, you should get a different description of what it addresses. So, you will be able to tell by the description when the new one is available for you.

Thanks, I just spent a frustrating hour attempting to install the same update. Since it wouldn't update, I first attempted to Repair my installation (same version), but the Repair feature hangs. I then uninstalled 2011 and re-installed it, but got the same error message reported above. Finally, I went to the net and found this thread. Since this problem was reported on this thread 3 weeks ago, may I respectively suggest that in the future updates with installation problems be corrected quickly. As I type this, there are undoubtedly other Hallmark users that are at this very moment downloading the same buggy update and will face the same frustrating experience. At the very least, indicate what version the program will be updated to, so we can determine if we've already got the update. Nonetheless, thanks, you solved my problem.

My version is 12.0.2.6 but when I try to update it tells me I already have the latest version. How crazy is that. And when I registerd I was supposed to get a "Bonus Birthday Pack" but never did.

If you have version 12.0.2.6, then you already have the most latest update installed. There has been no update released since that version.
Also, in regards to the bonus pack, you should have received an email with a link to download the bonus pack. I personally tested the registration last week when helping another customer. I successfully received the email from the registration. So, I know it was working at that point.
If you did not receive the email, you may want to check your Spam/Junk email folder to see if the email accidentally ended up in there. If you still cannot find the email, you can always re-register the program. It will send another email after you register again.

Thank you for that reassurance. Now, one more question - I finally got the link to the Birthday Pack bonus but it did not tell me where it downloaded it to and I can't find it anywhere - I did a windows search on birthday - pack - bonus - free none of those hit a bonus pack.
The download is blind and does not tell you where it downloads the file to. Which I really hate. I think companies who do not allow you to chose where you want their file on your computer are creepy.

We do not control where you download that bonus pack file. That is controlled by the default internet browser on your computer. For example, if I download the file with Internet Explorer, I receive a prompt asking me where I want to save the file. If I download it with Firefox, it has a download folder that it uses to save all downloads. The name of the file is "HCS2011RegPackDeluxe_10-27-10". Hopefully, this will help you find where your internet browser saved that file on your computer.
