comparing Protools LE (or Mpowered) to Cubase, which one do you prefer and why ?
what I like in Cubase :
- midi editor
- vst plugins (big big choice)
- cool interface
- free to choose in a lot of audio interfaces
what I like in protools :
- its austerity (compared to Cubase), you can concentrate on what's essential
- very stable, even with basic audio interfaces
- the quality of its plugins
- the powerful audio edition
These are 2 great softwares anyway, but I switched to protools several years ago and I would not go back

I try both of them (trial download) and I was very confused how to use them. Not for beginner at all !! Especially because I use Garageband before trying it :)

I have used both programs although not the most recent versions.
Cubase I find to be the better program as I find it easier to use and it supports VST plugins which open up the program to a whole world of possibilities.

I have been dithering about buying Ableton (I've played with the demo version) - I have the SE version of Cubase and it is great for sample and MIDI based sequencing but I wanted something that was more dynamic and could be used during live performance - PT and Cubase just can't match it.
@Alexandra : I was impressed with Garageband but it feels like a non-musicians package!
