Good morning Neil,

Try to create a new company file and see what happens when you save an invoice in that company file. It sounds like your file might be corrupt.

This is a clean install on a brand new Win 7 system, not an upgrade from previous version.

Is there a patch or update?

Seeing lots of same error on the web...?

Brand new HP Desktop

Windows 7 64 bit

4 Gb Ram

More times than I care to remember. I was sent files from softcity that was suppose to work with XP, that didn't work. To tell you the truth, I gave up on this software.

Hi! It looks that verion 10 is not working properly. Im receiving the same message "Data saving error: save entity exception" in my 25th invoice. Have read all the suggestions, answers but other than ask for a new company file, or type of computer none of the answers looks to solve the problem.

Does anybody knows how to solve this situation.

Im using a brand new 10th anniversary edition on a brand new HP 8GB Ram / 700GB HD / Windows 7 and Intel Core i7...

Yes. Maybe Avanquest neither knows how to do it. I place the box in my store counter asking my customers if someone knows how to solve it. First, I will see if someones knows and second, Im telling everyone not to make my mistake buying it. If nothing happens I will take it back to Office Max to exchange it!!!! Keep me posted, please!!!

ANYBODY know what the problem is with this program.  I have created a number of invoices and now I can't get past this constant error!  I have 42 entries under my company.  Would love some feedback on how y'all resolved this.  I'm right in the middle of completing invoicing for today  :/

Thanks

Jason Aguiar says:

Hello Cari,

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling then restoring a back up file? Make sure you have a good back up file before attempting that.

Have you installed or uninstalled any programs on your computer since this started happening? Have you received any Windows updates lately?

A K says:

I kept getting this too. I think it's somewhere in the bill to/ship to boxes. I typed in the company name, then copied it to the ship to. I then went back and filled in the address, then copied the rest of the address over. Then, I typed in the invoice that I needed to bill.

When I tried to save it, I got the "exception" note. So I went to "customize" and then preview, and there was a copy of the invoice that I was typing, so I printed it out to save the information I already had. When I closed that out, I got a message saying something about referencing an object, and then it allowed me to leave the program.

When I pulled it back up, the invoice had not been saved, and it defaulted the invoice number to the one I was just working on. When I went to type in the customer name, it popped up that the customer I was working on was a previous customer, so I clicked on it, BUT THE REST OF THE INFORMATION WAS NOT THERE. Only the customer name. So, I went and filled in the rest of the customer information under the bill to box, THEN copied it to the ship to box. I finished typing out the rest of the invoice, exactly how it was before, then saved it with no problem.

I truly hope this helps someone out there, and I hope this is all it is, and not just dumb luck. Maybe the tech guys can back track something in the bill to/ship to boxes.
