Gold Rush: Phones apps in 2010, is this a cycle?

Do you think there is a new Gold Rush every 10 years?

1980's => Personal Computers boom

1990's => Softwares boom

2000's => Internet boom

2010's => Phone apps boom

Don't you think it's bizarre that every 10 years the IT industry get something new to make gold of? and for you what would be the next Eldorado?

I bet on WebOSs and SAaS but for me this rush will occur sooner that in 2020 (I predict that next year or so we will see emergence of new WebOSs and softwares associated to them but maybe the real keen interest from consumers will rise around 2020)

Let me know your prediction and "Rendez-vous" in 10 years to see who was right ;)

My bet is "cloud" computing, and I agree with you 100%

I think it's the nature of the industry though, think of how quickly tech advances vs. the obersvations you have made.
