I believe that the action of liking a brand on Facebook says more about you than it does about that brand. Brands do not define themselves by their customers, they only market to those customers. Think about people that only wear brand name clothing. These are the people that will go like a brand on a social network like facebook because they become ambassadors.
It becomes important for others to know I use an Android, or a Windows operating system. It says something about me that I only dress in Gap jeans or Armani suits. It implies something of character.
