QuickBooks 2013

I upgraded to QuickBooks Pro 2013 and my old version of CheckSoft (11) didn't work with it.  I purchased version 12 thinking that is what I was supposed to do.  I tried to install it but was told I needed to uninstall version 11 first in Control Panel.  I tried to uninstall it, but kept getting an error stating I needed to be an administrator to uninstall the program.  I am the only user on this computer and am set up as an administrator.  I've got expenses that need to be paid and depend on QB to do this.  Can I get help with my problem?  Thanks!
