Check Design 10 compatibility with QuickBooks Pro 2011 Patch

Dear Representative,

We purchased Check Designer 10.0.0.0 for our company. We also purchased QuickBooks Pro 2011 and when running payroll, received an error that Check Designer 10 is not compatible. Can you please tell me if there are updates/drivers/patch that can be downloaded to get this to work, or if we need to purchase other software?

Thanks!

Good morning Pam,

Unfortunately at this time we do not have a version of Check Soft that will work with Quicken/Quick books 2011. We should be releasing our compatible version very shortly.

Arul,

The reason you are having issues with the 2 programs running together is because Quicken 2011 is not compatible with Check Designer 8.0. You will need Check Designer 11.0 in order to run it with Quicken 2011.

Jason,

I've used Check Designer for many years.  I just upgraded to Quicken 2011 and would like the option of using my blank checks.

I'm just looking for the most economical way to print my checks on the blank wallett check paper I already have.

Please let me know which one will work the best.

Thanks,

Arul,

If you have been using it for years and you plan to carry over your designs and information from the previous version you will need to pick up the same version. Meaning if you had Check Designer home and business in the past then you will need to get Home and Business or if you had Premier then you will need to stick with Premier.

ok, here is the answer. i just got off the phone with customer service.  there is not a patch or an update to make version 10 work with QB 2011.  You will need to purchase version 11 from them online.  I called Staples and they said their box does not have a version number so you are on your own there since they do not change the box designs at all.  I tried to explain to the lady on the other end of the phone that it is very frustrating that they do not state version numbers anywhere on the boxes or on the website.  her question to me... 'do you want to order that from me or online.' she totally ignored my frustration.  there is a 60 day window where you can return the software but if you are like the rest of us who have been waiting for an asnwer for over two months then you are out of luck too and need to fork over another $60.  ok, i am frustrated.  does anyone know of other software to print from blank checks?  i would rather not deal with people like this.

Arul,

What version of the software did you have before? If you use to have Check Soft Premier then you can only use the new version of Check soft Premier. The same goes for the Home and Business and Personal versions.

I bought the boxed version 11, and installed it.  It had no problem maintaining my existing custom check design.  Flash and something else wanted to update, so I let them.  Then QB Pro 2011 would no longer open.  It took a clean reinstall of QuickBooks to get everything working again.  That better hold me for a few years.

Same thing happened to our company. We upgraded to QB 2011 and checksoft started having probs. We contacted support and they said to go purchase the new version, so we went to Staples and purchased it. The box doesn't say what version, so we assumed it was the new one.

After installing, it is the same version we already had.. v10. Staples won't allow a return for open software... I emailed Jason Aguiar this morning.

More to follow once I hear back.. It boggles the mind that they know v10 are on the shelves and telling people to go make the purchase without having a work around. A wasted trip to the store to buy software I already had.........

Thanks Jason, I'm all set. Staples took the software back and I ordered from Avanquest today.

Funny, Staples still has v9 and v10 on their shelves and no copies of v11.

Other customers.. take heed. If the boxes are opened or can be opened, the version of the software is on the front of the disc. If you're using QB 2011, you need v11.

I am having problems getting checks to print. I am using Quickbooks 2010 and Checksoft v11.0 . I think after reading all of the problems here that the software is not compatible with Quickbooks. You really need to get it right or stop selling something that doesn't work. Maybe a call from the Attorney General office of a few state could get the problem solved!!!

James,

CheckSoft 2011 works perfectly fine with Quickbooks 2010 as well as Quickbooks 2011. 9 out of 10 issues you read on this forum are issues caused by the users system and really has nothing to do with the program.

You are very quick to jump to threats about contacting the Attorney general but have not mentioned anything about what issues you are having, other then a very general " I am having issues printing checks".

Going through our records I dont see that you have ever even tried to contact us VIA phone in the past either.

If you are having issues with the program we would be more then happy to help you out but need more information about the issue.

All of the stories in this thread are customers that have a new version of Quick Books/ Quicken and an older version of Check Soft. If you are running CheckSoft 2011 and QuickBooks 2011 then none of this thread should really apply to you. What is the exact error that you are getting?

The only time the word patch is used in the above post is someone saying that there is NO patch to make older versions of CheckSoft work with new versions of Quicken/ Quick Books.
