Hello John, The old version and the new versions are made by 2 totally different companies. The way they open files and the way they read files are different. The old version probably had fields that the new version no longer uses.

Hello James, The version of Check Soft you are using is about 5 or 6 years old and no longer made or supported. At this time I would suggest you upgrade to CheckSoft 2012 and you will be able to run that on your Windows 7 machine.
