Psystar launch "Rebel EFI", boot Mac OS X Snow Leopard on a PC

The PC manufacturer Psystar is given today a chance to try there new software Rebel EFI.

Before purchasing the software, user can try it with their free limited demo:
http://store.psystar.com/featured/rebel-efi-preview.html
The demo would allow to install Mac OS X with "limited hardware functionality as compared with the full version."

The full version of Rebel EFI, costs $49.99 without any limited functionality.

Of course, not all PC will be compatible with the software, you will need at least an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, i7...

They say that after downloading the software, you just need to burn it and follow the onscreen instructions.

Other operating systems like Microsoft's Windows 7, are compatible with the Rebel EFI suite, according to the company.

I didn't try it by myself yet, but being able to try Mac OS without paying the high cost of a Mac is really appealing.

I used to build my own Mac OS PC, 2 years ago.

by choosing the right hardware, it was an interesting projetcs, and it worked so good. Nevertheless, as I knew, the first MacOS Update was a disaster, as the system was not able to boot after.

I hope that Psystar has found a solution for that.

enjoy mac os

Benoît Bousquet says:

Mind you, installing Mac OS X on non-Apple hardware goes against the software license agreement.

This is an interesting read, however.

Blaise RABAUD says:

You are right Benoit, Apple doesn't like this idea to use OSX on non Apple hardware. I can't imagine how much OS X they could sell if they would allow that. But luckily, I didn't plan to sell this machine, only have a good and CHEAP machine at home.
