What if Operating Systems Were Airlines?
UNIX AIRWAYS :
Everybody comes to the airport carrying a small piece of the aircraft.
They move to the runaway and start building the plane arguing endlessly on the aircraft type they need to build.
AIR DOS :
Everybody push the plane until it glide, then jump on board waiting for the plane to land few meters far away and start the process again and again and....
MAC AIRLINES :
Every crew members, airport workers, cops, look the same and act the same.
Each time you ask something, you are told gently that you don't need to know and that you don't want to know, everything will be done as it should and you'll never know, so shut up!
AIR WINDOWS :
The airport looks like heaven, everything is shining, luggages check and boarding are going smoothly, and you'll never have a nicer take off.
After a 10min flight, the plane simply explode without any warning.
AIR WINDOWS NT :
Almost like air windows but it's more expensive, use bigger plane and destroy everything within 65miles around the plane during the explosion.
AIR WINDOWS XP :
Once again taste like NT except that your luggages are check when you're flying, directly from the tower.
If you don't have the required paperwork the plane explode and FBI come to investigate.
AIR LINUX :
Company workers left their former job to create their own company.
They build plane themself, boarding pass as well as the runaway. You just have to cover the pricing of printing your boarding pass but you can download it and print it yourself without an additional cost so you're flying free.
When boarding you are given a seat, 4 screws, a screwdriver and a copy of seat-HOWTO.html
Once everything is set, your flight is dream, food is excellent and you're never late.
When talking about this glamorous flight, the only thing that make people react is:
What are you supposed to do with the seat????
Make your mind, and pickup your favorite airways ;)
