Wild World of Sports

I’m not really into sports, of any kind. I have a lack of upper body strength, a low tolerance for pain, and I tend to break easily. However, despite my best effort to remain completely anti-social, the people around me are into sports. So I rely on the ESPN ScoreCenter app to not look completely out of touch with the world. This free iPhone/iPod Touch app gives you access to sports news, scores, and highlights through ESPN Mobile Web. Its 24 hours sports coverage on your iPhone/iPod Touch anywhere.

ScoreCenter is really slick, at launch you get a little sports trivia while it loads, and at the bottom of the main screen you are treated to the patented sports news ticker ESPN is known for. You can customize the sports and teams you’re following on your personal myTeams page, which you can further tweak by setting up custom alerts for up to the minute scores and news updates from your favorite teams. Each sport has its own dedicated page with scores and schedules for upcoming games. The Top Events page features the most recent games on ESPN. For even more news, click on the ESPN tab at the bottom right hand of the screen to catch up on ESPNs lead stories. At the same time, check out game previews, analysis, watch video highlights, manage your fantasy teams, or listen to one of the dozens of sports related podcasts on offer. ESPN ScoreCenter is more sports info than I would ever need, but if you’re a sports fan, you should never leave home without it.
