Texting the Bullies Away

“Talk About It” is an app that lets kids send an anonymous text or email message to a teacher or counselor when they’ve been bullied.

The app lets students mark a concern as “urgent” or “normal,” and choose a category like “bullying,” “alcohol” or “violence.” Before the app was implemented at a middle school inAustin,Texas, 75 percent of students said bullying was a problem. After they started using the app, only 25 percent of students said it was.

The downside is that the app costs $3000 per school, whether large or small. (Seems outrageous to us.) More info at Talk.SchoolMessenger.com.
