I don't know if I'm the only one who tries this, but I tend to have a couple google calendars in use at all times. I like to keep things separate ( different colours in google calendar ) for kids activities, work stuff, etc.

I just got an IPhone ( 4 for those wondering ), and I went through the standard Google Account setup, and realized that I couldn't select what calendars I wanted to sync, it only displayed the default one associated to my email address. I then tried the Exchange account configuration, that worked for the calendars, but that only pushed NEW emails to the phone, not my emails that are already in my inbox.
What could I do, on the one hand, I had access to my email but not my calendars, on the other access to my calendars but not all my email. What a bungle I was in.....
In comes the ability to have multiple "accounts" setup for the same google email.
Here are the steps.
- setup your email account as you normally would
- new account
- Gmail type
- Fill in information
- Disable calendar sync for this account ( leave email and notes )
- Setup a new account as exchange
- Email address
- Username ( same as email )
- Password
- Server ( m.google.com )
- disable email synch for this account ( leave contacts and calendars )
- Go to Calendar App
- open safari to http://m.google.com/sync
- select which calendars you want to sync
- voila

- Select More
- Subscribe to "Contact's Birthday's and events"
that's all for today.
