Androholic do have sense of irony: here comes iDroid

I could have named my article "Flash to be supported on iPhone".

As android platform is reaching more and more phone manufacturer, we could imagine that by the end of the year probably 70% of mobile manufacturers will have at least 1 model powering the mobile OS from Google.

We know (from what we read on Steve J statements and some discussions going on in softcity) that there are 2 clans raising in the techies community, pro-iPhone and Androholics.

As a big fan of the little green robot, I could'nt missed the opportunity to publish this news about Android being ported to iPhone by a developers team.

In deed, the famous devteam (who were previously creators of the iPhone jailbreak tool) have just announced that they have been able to install and load an Android 1.6 software on a iPhone 3G, they stated that the system can perform most functions of the terminal such as telephone, SMS, touch screen, WiFi, and at last but not at least, it is possible to choose which system to use to boot (dual boot)!

The tool called the iDroid is already available for download.

I do not see a real future for a product as this one, but I guess it is ironic considering the actual war for mobile OS that is going on.

This honestly is about as exciting as when my roommates and I hooked up our dishwasher to a Linux server via parallel port during my university years. I remember writing the app to manage the wash cycle and firing it up from the VT100 terminal in the living room.

*sarcasm off*

:) Android RULEZ :) Have just flashed my Hero to 2.1 - HTC have put back the official release 'til June. I'm FAR too impatient to wait that long, so have bitten the bullet and so far it looks like I made a good decision. Loving 2.1 :)

Agree, I've played a bit with Nexus One and HTC Desire and 2.1 is really nice.
