Ever get a call from someone needing help with their PC? It could be your mother who’s trying to set up a special network connection or a friend unfamiliar with how particular software works. So you say to do so and so on the phone and they ask you to clarify, and you spend an inordinate amount of time trying to maintain your patience/sanity.
Well I’ve discovered yet another cloud based service that renders such frustrations trivial. At Show Me What’s Wrong you can input your name and email and send a URL to the person in need of help. All they have to do is click on the link, and begin a recording of everything they do for five minutes. Once finished the recording is sent to you via e-mail. You can download the video or watch a live stream that will remain hosted for up to seven days.
Then you can just sift through the problem they are having and help them with it quite quickly. Of course this works both ways! I suppose they haven’t yet figured it out but the user with the problem could send you the link, then you start recording a step-by-step guide of what they are trying to solve and then they can just watch the streaming video as many times as they like.
I keep seeing more and more signs of simple, useful and convenient tools that the cloud provides us, further proof of the inevitable shift to cloud based systems.
For further clarification see their website, it includes a simple tutorial video that shows you the convenient and simple interface.
