Video making, and even HD video making is something that almost anybody can do now thanks to cheaper cameras and smart-phones. Even though anybody can bring some friends together and make a film, there is something that Hollywood can still do that is difficult to do by yourself. Special effects are sometimes the selling point of many Hollywood movies, and I'm sure many amateurs would love to add those effects into their home movies.
Action Movie FX

Although professional special effects require specialized software and hardware, I'm sure we are going to start seeing some interesting options to add those effects to your videos. Action Movie FX for example is an interesting App for the iPhone and iPad.
The app was created by Bad Robot, the J.J. Abrams Company behind shows like Lost and movies like Super 8.
With this program, you can add some Hollywood special effects to your own movies for free (or 99 cents).
The App renders one of several scenes over your recorded video: A missile attack, a rolling car falling down from the sky, a tornado, etc.
The app also adds sound effects, music and lens flares to your scene, and once it’s finished you can add it to your own home movie or post it directly to Facebook.
The app is a promotional stunt for Abrams' latest Mission: Impossible, and although the marketing campaign is pretty smart, the result is surprisingly good.
Cinefy
Cinefy doesn't just add special effects, it has its own video editor. The app offers video-editing capabilities to your smartphone, and also has 50 amazing special effects. You can add a dinosaur and a UFO landing right in your own movie.
This program was picked as a finalist out of 67 apps in the Mobile App Showdown, and it will be released later this year.
And going even further, besides video editing and special effects, the program has a library of royalty free songs to use in your movies.
This would certainly be an app not to miss.
